Food conditioned bears, are
considered "dead" bears. They become fearless of people and
potentially dangerous. They may become nuisance animals. Nuisance
bears must often be trapped and euthanized. A few are fortunate enough to be
provided a home in a zoological park or rehabilitation facility, such as
some of the bears pictured above. Space for bears has become increasingly
limited in zoos and captive conservation parks.
